The Professional Law Enforcement Association (PLEA) is a diverse police employee organization whose primary objective is to ensure fair and equitable treatment for its members by their respective law enforcement agencies. To provide this protection, PLEA's in-house legal counsel offers immediate and efficient legal defense when necessary.

The success of the Association is built on its reputation. All members of the Executive Board, as well as the Association's attorneys, are available 24 hours a day to better serve our members. As a member, you are assured access to the services of the Executive Board, Board of Advisors, and its representative, including legal representation.

PLEA does not function as the bargaining agent for the Miami-Dade Police Department. Additionally, PLEA is not politically affiliated with the Command Staff, the Miami-Dade Police Department, or the Miami-Dade Government. This absence of political obligation allows the Association to address membership issues promptly, impartially, and without concern for administrative reprisal. Our motto, "Defender of Police Officers' Rights," underlines this distinction. This has also enabled us to become the recognized bargaining agent for the Village of Virginia Gardens Police Department.

PLEA welcomes its affiliation with the International Union of Police Associations (IUPA) to uphold its reputation for defending these rights.
